Wet and 24

It is wet, wet in this area this morning...it's been a while,( Sounds like an old Staind song) But if you think back, Spring in SE Texas is pretty much like this...boggy....anyway, I had 4.37 inches of rain and actually could not sleep due to the thunder last night. ( We have WW2 Blackout Curtains in our bedroom, like we are expecting the Luftwaffe to be bombing all night...)

Sad part, if you look at the regional radar near San Antonio, round two is headed this way...

Second thing of note. one of my favorite all time TV shows is in negotiations to come back....24, with Kiefer Sutherland. There is so little I watch on network TV, I hope Fox is able to pull it off.

Student Blows Up on Youtube.

So a Duncanville ISD( Near Dallas) 10th grade student blew up at his World History teacher when the teacher kicked him out of class. 

The kid is right. There are some lazy ass teachers. You know I have written about sorry teachers in the past.... Nothing new, that said, I would have eaten the kid alive just for fun....but then again, that's just me. :)

I Wonder How Much Trouble I would Be In????

So, many of you are having children that are high school in age. I got to thinking about how a parent conference would go?

I was wondering if I would be nice, bring stuff up you did when you were in school, yell at you for the kid, take both of you to the cuss porch?

I'd try to be nice, but if I were retirement eligible, there ain't no telling...man, I am so glad I am retired....

Jodi Arias

I have been watching the Jodi Arias trial off and on since it started in January. I do not know how the 12 jurors and alternates have stood it. I know they were not sequestered, and Arizona has not sequestered a jury in 80 years, but you know they are worn absolutely out.

Tomorrow they will start the punishment phase. Either life in prison or death. I am guessing they are going to give her life. Juries just do not put women to death. There are 122 men and 3 women on death row in Arizona. The way the jury announced the verdict, they may have already compromised the verdict and the she'll get life. ( 7 premeditated and felony, 5 premeditated.)

Arizona has not executed a woman since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976. I doubt Jodi will receive a lethal injection.

Buna School

I have said repeatedly I love the people in the community of Buna. I'll always have a special place in my heart for the folks there. I think about many of you often and wonder about what you are doing. That said, there is seriously something wrong with the school.

I understand that some of you work for the district and within the district you see things from well, a different viewpoint. I know this because I was there. Now that I am removed, more and more I look at the school with a more objective eye.

There are just too many things going on that I as a former teacher look at from afar and go, " what in the hell were they thinking?"

People are starting to call me at my house, some all in a tizzy. I thought it was just a few malcontents, but last evening, I received a call from a person who I see as pretty darn straight shooter with their opinions. They were upset with the actions that took place during the last week. They literally were besides themselves and these are people who don't normally get upset. They are to the point I think homeschooling is the venue they are looking at for their children.

I know there are several "old school" Buna educators who are just appalled. They won't/can't tell the general public, but secretly, they are shocked at what is going on.

Now, I know Buna is not Beaumont ISD or even Pt Arthur ISD, but the route it is going, it makes you wonder how long the same stunts will be pulled within the district. ( There are a lot of people who think the school is doing nothing but playing CYA instead of taking care of business first.)

Don't know who reads this in Buna administration or board ( probably no one), but if you want a bond to pass, you need to make more of your patrons happy than what you have right now....and to be honest, I don't think you know how...

Three Girls in Cleveland

So, if you have not heard, three young women were released from a kidnapper in Cleveland, OH. They were held captive for over 10 years.

I assume that the kidnapper used the girls along with his brothers for some sort of sex slaves.

The kidnapper was a school bus driver in Cleveland.

I've been around schools all my life. Since I retired is the longest I have not been in a school. ( My Mother took me to workdays before I was in school, I remember that vividly.) I am going to make some school people upset with this next comment.

There are some fucked up people in the schools. I am amazed at the number of people in this area that are caught trying to fuck, or actually screwing their students. This happens at public, private, and parochial schools. It isn't just public schools.

I really wonder about the schools sometimes. I worked with some really fucked up people and the school knew, and did nothing......

I just do not know....

Sex...Aliens......Witches?

So, I asked Monday for possible "hot topics" to write about. There is just so much going on in Jasper, Orange, Newton, Hardin, etc. Counties I can cover....

I was suggested sex......Yes, I am all for it....Most guys I know are.....

Aliens??? Are there people on other planets? Probably. Are they here? I do not know.....

So what are UFOs? A lot are government experiments. The CIA, USAF, USN has stuff we don't know about as of yet....that entire Area 51 stuff......The other UFOs......Well, let me put it this way, if the government reveals there are UFOs, I will discuss, on this blog, what I really think they are....and at that point, it'll either "click" for you, or you'll think that I have finally "lost my damn mind."

I know some witches....they are evil, spiteful, women....wait, wait.....Was that with a "W" or a "B?"

Buna ISD Bond??????

So, I have not even thought about the bond in Buna....Don't even know the plans. Have not written about it, have not mentioned it on the radio program....I don't even know anything about it....I thought about going to a meeting, but the same night, I got a better offer.

For the third time I was approached by a Buna person, this weekend. who asked...." They are wanting to know how bad you are going to hurt the bond?"

Who is " they?" Why can't "they" contact me on their own?  What has "they" finally decided to put on the bond? Have "they" put off the bond until later? Is the bond talk dead?

Syria

So, I finally read some world news this morning and saw all of the Syrian News. It seems that the Israeli Air Force has bombed Syrian installations for the second day. The weapons are said to be Iranian of origin. Syria has responded by saying that the strike was a "Declaration of War."

Hang on, the ride might get bumpy. Syria has now pointed missiles towards Israel.  And the way Syria is talking, at this point they may strike back. 

There are even reports that Syria has a doomsday jet to carry chemical weapons into Israel. 

The "alternative" media is bringing back the "Damascus Option" and the destruction of that city as OT prophecy has predicted.

It may be interesting in the Middle East over the next few days.....weeks.....

White Suit

I have lost my damn mind. Seriously, I have lost it.

I am looking at ordering a white suit from Jos A Banks for the Summer season. I just can't make up my mind if it should be Poplin or Seersucker.....

Wear the Panama hat, the white suit, get sort of a Tom Wolfe, Mark Twain look going.

I've always been a little, well, eccentric in my life...Somebody stop me before I go totally over the edge...

Tim Tebow to WWE Wrestling???

So, the rumor now is that Tim Tebow could go to the WWE Wrestling business....( Or Rasslin' as I prefer to call it.)

Why the heck not? If he doesn't catch on with a NFL or CFL team what are his other options?  ( If he doesn't switch to either H-back or Tight End as I have suggested in the past.)

He has two.

1. Go on the lecture tour. It's what I would do if I were famous. Make money while you can.

2. Go into another form of entertainment. I don't see him as a very good 'actor" and Hollywood I doubt wants him, so go into rasslin'. There's big money in it. Trouble is, rasslin' might be harder on the body than the NFL. Just look at the injuries Mick Foley has had. 

I wouldn't be shocked if we see Tebow on a WWE Pay-Per-View coming soon.

I Hate Kirbyville

Well, not really. I just have a disagreement with the school system.

The school is in the process of early voting for their bond. They are wanting a new weight room, fix their old gym, make new parking lots, new HS offices, and add some classrooms...for a district that went from 3A to 2A in the last census.

I may have been a little more positive towards the bond, but some asshole(s) affiliated with Kirbyville ISD got us kicked off our last radio station. They couldn't handle political dissent. If you can't do that, it makes me wonder what "Nixonian Dirty Tricks" they are willing to do?

We've heard rumors of employees being threatened to be in favor of the bond, we wonder why the bond vote is on school district property rather than at a neutral site?

Look, I am generally not a friend of administrators.( There are some I like.) I often wonder why they are in the school business. If they really like kids, they would have stayed in the classroom like I did....

Kirbyville, I would vote "No."

Well, I must have made some people actually mad....They deleted me as a friend from FB!

Good, I was getting near the "magical" 1000 friends mark, and at that point, the purge begins....everyone's safe for now...:)

We Were Discussed at LSU?

Forgot to include this in the last blog, but it I figured it my need its "own" essay....

One of the letters received at the station was from an unhappy listener who claimed they had listened the radio show in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The writer claimed that they were a student at LSU.....I am wondering which LSU? LSU-Baton Rouge which is a 60+ mile drive from Lafayette? Or LSU-Eunice which is about a 40 mile drive? ( Eunice is a junior college, there are no 4 year degrees offered there. ) After I read the letter, I am guessing Eunice...14 grammatical mistakes. 

If they live in Lafayette, why not go to University of Louisiana-Lafayette,  the old USL....( As a Lamar grad when I think of USL, I can't help think of the old chant we said at games...." Go to Hell USL, Go to Hell."  I guess it would still work, "Go to Hell ULL, Go to Hell. :)" 

BTW: ULL is a good school, looked at doing a History MA there 25 + years ago. 

Anyway, they claimed that they discussed the show, listened to the show in class, and how it sucked....Seriously, do college classes now have the time to listen to hours of recorded shows now? 

Then, they claimed that they had done research on Jay and said his father was a lawyer....Jay's dad is a minister. I am wondering if they were getting us/family members mixed up, my late dad was a welder, but my BROTHER is a lawyer. 

They then told us some stuff that we don't tell the general public.....sort of stuff that makes you know your decision to carry is the right thing to do. 

Response to Viewers

Let me explain this once again........

I know the blog, the radio show upsets some people. I understand this. I know people get pissed off. I know people now hate me. I'm not trying to win friends here.

Look, when I started the blog there would be time in which I would tell people stuff they didn't want to hear. I try to tell it the way I see it. I try to say things people think, but they can't.

There are bridges I have burned. There are people who have written unflattering essays about me on FB. There are people who look the other way when they now see me in a store whereas in the past they were happy to see me.

Some of these people I have gone out on a limb to help in the past......gee, thanks.....actually I am glad to know how you really are...

Sometimes I wonder if it is worth it and in the end, I say, "Yes it is."

The radio station is another world. I am amazed at some of the letters we get both pro and con....Jay received an email this past week that started " Dear Asshole."  At that point you realize, we are hitting a nerve...good....

I know some people are upset because I openly tell people I carry a pistol, and I recently switched from a .38 special to a 44 special....Seriously, do you have to ask why? ( BTW: I love wheelguns, don't try to tell me to switch to some 1911 or a some boring Glock...puke.)

Am I going to change my blog? No?

Not a Felony?

So, it is my understanding that the person who confessed to the crime will not be charged with a felony. The crime will be a misdemeanor. They do not want a felony to follow the person for the remainder of their life.

It's their call. My understanding there is their were mitigating circumstances.  ( Read into that whatever you want.)

As a former teacher, I believe in second chances, if you don't think so, look back at some of your time in gov/eco with a fat, bald headed man, who liked hats and had too bushy of a mustache...  He should have flunked the hell out of several of you.

Question is this. At what point do crimes become a felony? Do you feel safer sending your kid to school? I know there are several people upset about the lack of felony, and if you are, call the school, it's still your school.

Confession at Buna ISD

It is my understanding that the person who made the threats has confessed.

The school district plans to press charges and will punish the student according to the code of conduct.

The question is this....For as much worry, concern, cost it it has made, will it be enough? Does the district need to re-write the code to make the punishment even stronger?  What will the punishment be?  Will we ever find out?

I know and understand there is probably a minor involved and certain rules apply...but one wonders....

Bad Boys, Bad Boys

So the long running Fox TV Show " Cops" is going to filmed in Beaumont the next several days.

You know it is of interest when it was one of the headlines from the Houston Chronicle today. 

I had planned on going to Beaumont to look for something I want, but with Orange County registration, I think I'll just stay home....or go to Pt Neches, Groves or Nederland over the big bridge...

If you go to Beaumont.....don't do anything stupid today....

The Media, Threats, and Buna ISD

I am wondering how much the latest threats are hurting the school? Last night as I watched "Hell's Kitchen," I saw a least 3 ads for the KBTV 9pm News and one of the top stories was the threats made at Buna Schools.

Then I look at KFDM 6's site and I see this. "Buna ISD and Jasper S.O. Investigating Threatening Messages." 

Hell, yesterday and Monday night, I had HUGE numbers of hits on my blog. Say what you will, people worry about their kids and the school in general. ( It's sort of a love/hate deal ain't it?)

My question is this.....Will there be any long term damage from the threats? If the perpetrator is not caught, then what?

Westboro Baptist

So, the Westboro Baptist Church out of Kansas is going to protest tonight's NBA game in Oklahoma City between the Thunder and the Houston Rockets. 

For those of you who don't know, these are the same people who protest anything. Military funerals, the West explosion funerals, all saying America is going to be like Sodom and Gomorrah due to the gays in the nation....and are against just about any other denomination, religion or church...other Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Muslims, Hindus, Orthodox, Catholics...etc....

Now, while I am in favor of First Amendment rights, at some point you need to realize you are not doing anything but making a damn fool of yourself.

How do they pay for all these trips to protest?

These goobs even have numbers of people " Cast into Hell" while visiting this site.....You have to wonder what eternity is really going to be like for them????

How Principals Handled Bomb Threats in the Past

Bomb threats are nothing new. Hell, we had them when I was in high school. Most the threats I had in school were called in during band, and our band director was Charles Smith. He never let us leave the bandhall. We practiced right through the threat. He knew they were a hoax. ( I don't think he really cared if we were blown up or not...)

Today is another story. People today are well, nuts.

The best handling of a bomb threat was done by Jerry McEarchern, that's right, Coach Mac.

We had a threat on a Monday morning and he put the entire high school in the far North stands, facing the sun. Coach Mac wondered if the threat was called in because I had a test that day? ( There wasn't.)

We sat there for about 3 1/2 hours.

This was in the day before everyone had a cell phone to call Mommy to come and get them because they might sit in the sun and get some Vitamin D and cure their Rickets.

It got hot. It got uncomfortable. We got cranky. We were late to lunch..........We didn't have another bomb threat for a few years....

I don't know if they can do it that way now, but I would give it a try....

Another Threat Against Buna Schools

There has been another threat made against a Buna school. This time the Junior High. ( The automatic system  has reported that threats were made at both the HS and JH.)


There is to be additional security at all 3 schools.

I hope the person or persons who are making the threat are caught and punished. It may be time for the parents of the kids to be held responsible for the financial loss. My understanding is the kids missing school from the last time cost the Buna ISD around $30,000 in state funds.

Gay NBA Player

You knew that it was going to happen sooner rather than later in pro sports. An "active" NBA player has come out as gay.

The question I have is this? Why did he wait until now? At 34, a free agent, and a vet of 12 years in the NBA, you wonder if this is a ploy to be signed in order to play just one more year in the league?

Gay players are really nothing new. I remember the old Houston Oilers had a wide receiver who was homosexual. After the game interviews, the post-meetings, he would meet his boyfriend in the hallway with the rest of the player's wives and girlfriends. The WR played a number of years with teams other than Houston. No one "outed" him and as far as I know, he could play football and that's all anyone cared....

Selling Guns

I didn't mention before, but I have been selling some of my guns. Basically trading one model for another.....including, my 1911 .45. I am shocked I sold the 1911, and then again, maybe not....Who knows, the Bear Gun ( Ruger 454 Casull Alaskan ) might be next....I've been shocked at what they are going for now.

For some reason I am in a "wheel-gun" mode. I don't know, I have always been a revolver fan. ( Then again, I wear hats and sometimes clothes like guys in the old days. ) I found a Charter Arms .44 special  Bulldog  Pug I couldn't pass up at the Houston Gun Show and I had to have it.( The round coming out of one is the size of a '57 Oldsmobile.)....Put some 246 grain shells in it and there is nothing better than having your wrist come out of socket after firing it.....One of these days I'll explain why I now carry a .44 instead of a .38.....

D##n Infomercials

So, yesterday afternoon, I was looking for something to watch on the satellite dish. Anything, something.....I started to run the guide on the screen and while I know there are numerous stations that do nothing but sell crap, I notice there is one infomercial being played on numerous stations.

It's that " Get Better Sex? " or "Want Better Sex?"  or some variance of "Sex"

It is a doctor who I assume is doing it for a big check, and a couple of other people who we're suppose to know, but we don't, pushing some sort of herbal remedy  to cure all of your sexual problems. I look and this crap is on 8 stations have ....8.....that's right 8.....They are pushing this product by saying, "if you order this from us, you don't have to be embarrassed by speaking to your doctor."

So, we're talking about some sort of Cialis, Viagra type product.

Does this really need to be sold at all hours of the day on TV? Rather than at 1 pm, shouldn't this be sold at 1 am?

I don't know why, but it reminds me of my first couple of years at Buna. We had a Supt. of Schools who had teachers involved in a catalog fund raiser. ( I've never been involved in since....and wasn't before.)

The superintendent apparently didn't really read the catalog, because in the back pages were "female stress relief massage products" and what we called in the old days, " hard-on pills."

Non-Citizens on a Jury?

So California is going to pass a law that will allow non-citizens to be on a jury.... Really? Really? Is this what we have come to in this nation?

Have we gotten to this point in America?

This means if you are tried by 12 there can be the following non-citizens 3 from Mexico, 2 from Haiti, 2 from El Salvador, 2 from Canada, 1 from St Kitts, 1 from Scotland and 1 from Chile sitting the jury box....

New $100 Bill

So in an attempt to foil counterfeiters, the US Treasury has come out with a new $100 bill.



You know I hate to say this, but I sort of like the big gold 100 on the back of the bill....All old $100 bills are still good, as I received one of the old school $50s in payment the other day. The credit union teller said that you would be surprised at how many old bills are still in circulation....

I am glad they didn't change the picture of Franklin like they did Andrew Jackson on the $20 Sorry, but they made Jackson look like an old lesbian.



I wonder how long before the counterfeiters can copy the new $100? A week?

Reflections on Boston

Over the last week and a half, I have been so bombarded with thoughts, ideas, images from Boston, I am really having a hard time trying to decide what I believe in the entire situation.

I have yet seen a film or picture of the brothers actually putting their backpacks down at the site.

I have yet seen a cc tape from the second bomb site.

I still have a hard time thinking that they acted alone. I am afraid that they had help from someone. Who? I have thoughts there and will probably write about it later.

I was upset when Boston PD ordered innocent people at gunpoint to leave their homes. Sorry, I still believe in the 4th Amend to the Constitution....I would have been dead either from the two brothers( if they had tried to come in my house.)  or the BPD killing me trying to come in without a warrant.

I am still upset that we had a discussion about giving Miranda to the younger brother after he was arrested. We start to give up Constitutional Rights, in the name of safety, it is all over in this nation.  You could be next on something as simple as a traffic ticket. It's a slippery slope.

I was surprised, and at the same time not shocked that it was 25% of the students out of Buna yesterday.

This may not get any better. I can see little lemonheads trying this on a regular basis if they don't catch the original idiot involved in the action from Thursday.

My worry is if the lemonhead is caught, the ramification will amount to a slap on the wrist.

Okay Buna, I was nice yesterday, won't be today.....I wonder if the person has a "name" if they will get a "sweetheart" of a deal in this?  In the real world, when a knothead who pulls a stunt like this is sent to jail....or if they are at work, fired.

Going to School?

I have not been really positive or friendly to the Buna ISD since I retired. I really have not. You know it, and I know it....that said, I am pretty confident that the situation they find themselves in today, they have under control.

Someone was asking on Facebook earlier this week if they were sending their kids to class this week and there was some hesitation by a couple of folks.....The answer I have to the question is this...I would go to school this week and and I would send my child. ( What you do is your decision however. You have to look into your heart and make the call.)

My only suggestion is when they catch the person, that person is punished and doesn't just receive a slap on the wrist, as often happens.....

Houston Gun Show

I went to the "big" gun show at the Reliant Center today. I was disappointed. There was so much stuff there that I would consider as crap....and there was the ancillary non-gun stuff that sort of goes with guns, well not really...Jerky, WWII  memorabilia, more jerky, heirloom seeds, anti-Obama tables, black folks against Obama, some sort of Asian support group.....Hell, there was even shoe shine people at the front and back on the center. I wish I would have worn some dress shoes.

The center was about 3/4th full of vendors. There were huge open spots in the place.

There was no ammunition. There was, but it was so expensive you could not afford it. Like a guy was selling S, Korean PMC .223 for $1.03 a round. There was some cheaper, but it was all too expensive. There was even a guy selling Danish 5.56x45 military surplus ammo. I've never seen surplus ammo from Denmark and I've been around. ( He wanted too much or I would have bought a box.)

The guns that were new there were the following. Glocks, Sigs, and Taurus. Tons of them...There were so many Glock pistols I was sick of looking at Glocks. There was even a gunsmith who specialized in fixing Glock pistols there. I stopped and watched him fix a Model 22.

One of the most interesting discussions I had was with two alternative lifestyle guys selling concealed carry purses. The purses were too well, Western for any female ( one) in my life to carry, and they both admitted I was right, and were thinking about purses with a little more girly-girl in mind.( I say this while my girly-girl is on the tractor in the backyard. )

I did find the gun I was looking for at a decent price. I was shocked, it was the only one in the place.

On the way home, wound up coming back on Hwy 225 to Baytown. I was amazed at the lack of traffic on a Saturday on a 6 lane highway. I am sure during the week it is busy, but during the weekend, it was clear sailing.

Another note, I was amazed at the number of Chrysler stretch limos on the road. I saw 4 including one traveling East on I-10 that said Coushatta Tribe. I am sure it was carrying a "High-Roller" to the casino to throw dice in Louisiana.

Another Run on Ammunition

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse in finding ammo, it has.....Story from Miami...and Wisconsin...

The Boston Marathon bombing mess, the anger displayed by Mr Obama after the universal background check failed in the US Senate, threats of new executive orders, everyone is just plan jumpy in the gun community.

I may need to go to the gun show in Houston tomorrow just to see what it is like "on the ground."

Chechen Torture

These Chechens sort of spooked me.

I have done a little research on the war that Chechnya is having with Russia and I came across a number of photos and videos in which the Chechens are torturing Russian soldiers, many of the soldiers were very young guys. ( Now the Russian are as bad in their methods of torture....but I think they do it in retaliation to the rebels in Chechnya.)

I started to publish a number of these videos and photos on this site, but some of the sites main advertisers were pornographic sites, and I just couldn't bring myself to subjecting my readers to gynecological photos.

The videos can be found with a little research on both Google and my personal favorite, Yahoo....( I know, I know, I use Google Chrome, but my homepage is still Yahoo...old habits die hard.)

The videos will help you understand where the two brothers come from and even though they have lived in the U.S. for a number of years, their roots to the homeland are evident here.

Chechen Bombers

I do not know enough about the bombers to make a an educated attempt to explain why they did what they did....I wonder, I honestly wonder....and sad part is, we may never know what really happened.

Do I blame Muslims? Yes and No.

Yes, there are extremists of all groups. They see us as followers of Christ in many cases as the enemy.

No, I lived next door to an man and his family from Iran. We fought and argued over religion and at first I thought he hated me, but one day he grabbed me by my shoulders, gave me a huge hug and said..." Kerry, I so love our talks about religion."  This is a man, I helped dig out his sewer, and later he helped me paint my house....( He loved Taco Bell. Gun Owners....Watch Out!

I knew this was coming when I saw Mr Obama come into the Rose Garden at the White House and chew out the US Senate and the gun community for not doing what he wanted.

So this comes out from the man who scares me if he is president, the Vice President, Joe Biden...." The President is planning additional executive orders on guns." 

If you own a gun that has to take foreign made ammunition, or if the gun you wants is made in Belgium or Austria or Germany, you better beg and or borrow enough money to get what you need....I can see a stoppage on the importation of stuff from overseas....other orders, I cringe to see...

Oh Man....

Once again, I am trying to stop cussin' in the blog....I'm trying to stop cussin' so much in general....I apologize...Sometimes I just get wound up and I can't help myself....I will probably take the blog down from earlier today. The content I stand behind....The swearing once again, if I've offended, I apologize...

Jaded / And I am Going to Go There

Is it just me, but I have killed so much stuff in my life, seen so many gore movies, played so many bloody games, the unedited photos of Boston didn't make me turn away like I expected.

Have I become jaded? Are we all now jaded?

Secondly, with the theory being turned to a " lone wolf," I wonder if they are now looking at a Iraqi/ Afghan  vet who may have lost a leg in the war?

The symbolism of Patriot's Day, Tax Day, and a group of runners makes me wonder??? You know the Feebs are looking at this angle. ( I have another blog I am working on about how the government is turning against vets in the pipeline....)

Okay, I'm Going to Go There....

Fox News, CNN, MSNBC are wall to wall coverage of the Boston bombing. It is a terrible event....and should be covered.

Question is this...if this would have happened in Beaumont or Pt Arthur, or Lafayette, or Tallahassee, would the news media be giving us the same coverage?

Would they be giving the same if it were ANY city in the South? San Francisco, LA, Las Vegas...yes....

Oklahoma City did, but 168 people were killed including 19 children and it was a Federal building...

I just have to wonder....

Boston

You knew this was going to happen again here in America. I am surprised it took this long. Since 9/11 we have been waiting for this to happen. I am shocked to read this morning that 25-30 people have lost a limb. 

The question now turns to who?

I have so many questions now and I wonder if we'll ever get all of the answers. Say what you want, and I hate to go there....do you really trust the US Government in the investigation?

Then there are the 3 major news cable stations.....Last night as I watched, CNN, and MSNBC were pushing the idea of a home-grown " Right-wing" domestic terrorist........Fox News was pushing for foreign terrorists.

The street that the explosion took place has a huge amount of private cc cameras. If either the FBI or Boston PD doesn't find something from these cameras, there is something wrong....For me, that's the key in the investigation.

At this point, we all need to keep in our prayers all of the victims and their families.

Gold

So, the bubble seems to have burst this morning in the gold market. I have wondered about this for quite a while.

Traditionally gold has always been a hedge against inflation. Trouble is, gold has no real industrial usage. ( Silver does)

If you are interested in buying gold or silver I would hang on a bit. I think the bear run will continue.....

Fat Boy Missing????

So the the Dictator, of N. Korea, Kim Jung Un, known on here as "Fat Boy" has not been seen in public in the last two weeks. All of this leads to the question, has he been kicked out of power? Is he dead? Is he in hiding for some political reason? ( Assassination attempts?)

If something happens, tomorrow, April 15th, might be the day. It is Kim-Il-Sung, the founder of N. Korea's birthday....we'll see if his grandson shows up tomorrow for the celebration...They could very well do a nuclear test, or a rocket launch tomorrow...

Tonight

This will be the last time I ever write a post on the prom. The last few people I have taught ( That little group of Sophomores I had in the 4th period W. History class.) graduate next month....

Seniors, tonight is the last big party at the high school.  Enjoy it. The real world starts in about two months.

My concern is after the prom. There are choices to make.

Some of you will drink, some of you may indulge in narcotics. If you do, please, please.....please, stay in one spot. Don't drive.....and don't get into a car with someone who has been drinking...

There is nothing worse for a teacher to attend a funeral or a visitation of a student who has lost their life. You are this close to graduation....make sure you walk across that stage.

Young ladies, you will look fantastic tonight. You will look amazing. Just because you look, and feel good, don't make the wrong choice with Mr. Wrong. ( I know some of you are dating a boy for the first time this evening.)

Remember ladies, it is your choice.

Colt Moving AR15 Plant to Texas

So it seems that at least one portion of the Connecticut based Colt Firearms Company is moving to Texas. 

The question is this....why can't we get the rest of the plants in Connecticut to move to Texas? This area would welcome Mossburg, Ruger, Marlin, Charter Arms, US Firearm, Wilson, and Colt. All are all ripe to move to a more gun friendly state.....

I am telling you folks, there are business opportunities on the horizon....If I was in a leadership position in Jasper or Orange Counties, I would be on a plane Monday morning...

So Fat Boy is up this morning running around threatening Japan this morning...The US sure as hell ain't going to let that happen. Trouble is, N. Korea say that nuclear war in unavoidable. 

Then a member of congress from Colorado has read reports that the N. Korea can put nukes on ballistic missiles.


But this morning, my question is this....what are these N. Korean women looking at...or doing for Fat Boy? He sure be smiling ain't he?

Okay, I'll be serious again.....maybe...been listening to Led Zeppelin , Buckcherry and Jane's Addiction this morning, so I can't promise anything...

It seems that N. Korea is getting ready to shoot a missile into the Pacific Ocean from their NE coast. It sort of really makes you wonder at this point just what they want?

N.Korea has a 29 year old dictator, addicted to porn, starves his people, threatens the world with his nukes and has a bad haircut...see Hitler's haircut...he might be the perfect 21st C. dictator...

The question is this...What has Kim Jong Un been waiting for on the rocket?

His shipment of mentos and diet cokes to arrive.

Breasteses

So I hit a new all time low and watch the 4pm news on Fox 4 yesterday....and what are they talking about? They have a plastic surgeon on pushing his breast implants....and the reporter sits there and acts like this is serious news....and like a dumbass, I can't quit watching...

Then, this morning I find a French study that bras make breasteses more saggy......Really...how do you explain those women in the National Geographic magazine with the breasteses dragging on the ground....

That's right, I am 55 going on 13 this morning....

Beyonce and Jay-Z

I hope I spelled both people's names correctly. They are two the the "in" people in America. Beyonce is a lovely lady, not Hallie Berry lovely in my book, but then Hallie is closer to my age.

It seems the couple gets to go to Cuba.....and the Dept of the Treasury approved the trip under some sort of educational mission. ( You can't go there unless it's educational or cultural.) The educational mission went there at the same time that as their anniversary......I'm sorry, I don't care who you are, it ain't right...and Cuba might be worse on racial relations than the US. ( Do some research.)

The problem is, someone at the Dept. of Treasury who was told to approve the trip will be the scapegoat.

Trouble is, in my opinion, the embargo has been a failure. Castro has been there. in charge. as long as I have been alive. We trade with China, Vietnam.....they're not any better than Cuba and we trade with them all day... Maybe it is time to open up Cuba to capitalism? Sugar, cigars, rum, cigars, tourism, cigars..hell, I'd go to Cuba just for fun.

So Glad I am Retired....

I am so glad I am out of the school business.....so glad, I do not think you people really understand.

Had a young man write me last week wanting to know my opinion of teaching school. He's from one of my all time favorite families in Buna and I have procrastinated writing him back.....I just want to drive to where he is and grab him by the shoulders and shake him as hard as I can and shout "NO!!!!!!"

I then see that they are wanting to change the rules on retirement for teachers in the State of Texas. ( Let me remind you that teachers pay into TRS every month.) At this point, why would anyone in their right mind teach school?

Don't get me wrong. I liked teaching school. I enjoyed the career. I liked the kids.....But I wouldn't recommend this career to anyone in college right now. I am sad to tell you, but it is going to get worse, and worse in the profession...I am too the point you would be better off being a piano player in a whorehouse than teaching school....

Bunky

So, for all who wondered or give a damn, I had lunch today in Lumberton with Bunky.

He has not been in prison, he is not under indictment, he is not being tested to see if he's a babies' daddy.

He is out of work, not in school and out of a woman.....I guess it is almost like being retired....

It was a good lunch, caught up on stories, family and gossip. Saw other Buna folks in the restaurant and to our surprise, they acknowledged us being there.....

For those of you who were curious, he is still " Dippin' for Jesus' and took a softball size lump of Copenhagen snuff for dessert after lunch....

It is obvious that "national journalism" does not follow the same protocol that "us underfunded radio journalist" do. Your "source material" paints a crazy picture, but if you want to call this a FIRESTORM of a story... then it must be a slow day at the office! :)

1. As is our custom with interviewees, Max Griffin and I discussed prior to interview what the show would in-tell. He was informed and ready to field questions from the local public. We had two specifically given questions that we discussed, #1 Who the HELL is Max Griffin? #2 Many people questioned his sexuality? He was informed that his sexuality would be questioned and he expressed no concerns. However, when the ON AIR light went on, Max seemed to tense up concerning his homosexuality, which caught me a little off guard. FYI- Max made a post on Facebook last year stating that he wanted to be the 1st GAY MAYOR of Jasper...so we addressed that in the interview as well.  

 2. The radio show, NOTonthePAYROLL is mine and my co-host! We make it our habit to ask questions MOST people would not, IE the name: NOTonthePAYROLL. We purchase TIME on KJAS, which is the most listened to station in our area. YES, Mike Lout is the owner of that radio station, so other than facilitating the hour our show AIRS... MIKE LOUT is NOT INVOLVED and this is solely OUR SHOW!!!

NOTonthePAYROLL is devoted to those who have not compromised the truth for money.

3. Max Griffin told me prior to the interview that HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS GETTING INTO, COMING ON OUR SHOW and also stated that HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH OUR SHOW.

4. It is obvious to both me and others that you {Bethany} never listened to the actual interview or THE HUGE FOLLOW UP SHOW that RATTLED CHRISTIANS WHO "EXPRESSED" HATRED OF MAX GRIFFIN BECAUSE HE IS GAY...

I don't expect you to get to know me, or even care to ...but if you are going to represent "Religion and Politics" to the masses....Communicate with BOTH sides of the issue and remove your LEFT WING FILTER and speak the TRUTH...not some fabricated BS!!! ohhh yeah, Nice Spin off of the whole James Byrd Dragging Death that happened in 1997.... I don't guess Jasper will ever be allowed to COMPLETELY heal due to AWARD WINNING JOURNALISM LIKE THAT. Thanks for putting a town, in which you have never visited, into CONTEXT for the Nation. 

For anyone to assume that Max Griffin's sexuality is not a concerning to the majority voting populous' in Jasper TEXAS is living in a dream world. Much like in this PSEUDO STORY of the Huffington Post, our town and region has been shown as still not having evolved into the peaceful integration of the Black & White Races. However, what NATIONAL MEDIA has done over the years with Jasper...is to paint it as Backwards, Racist and Bigoted! I heard a man say one time that "you do not see the world as it is but as YOU are." Political Agendas...and NOT the Truth, are the source motivations for Ms. Blankley's report.

Radio Show is Attacked by Huffington Post

So, our interview with Max Griffith has been been attacked by the left-leaning website the Huffington Post.

In the interview, they basically said we spoke too much about the fact that the candidate, Max Griffith was gay...trouble is, when we asked the community what they wanted to know about, it was his homosexuality and how it would effect his being the Mayor of Jasper. ( We actually toned it down.)

Anyway, it's good to be in the national media....even if they don't like us. :)

Wow....Just....Wow

I went to town earlier today and ran into a person who had heard the radio show from Thursday night on KJAS.....it seems it made them, well unhappy....and it surprised me about what.

On the show I made mention that I had eaten lunch with a friend who had converted to Islam and the folks in  the Middle Eastern restaurant were nicer than the people at the church I visited on Easter.

Now, I know I am not a politician. I am not a back-slapper or a person who acts glad to see you. It's just my personality. I attribute it to teaching school for 30+yrs. I went through a period of time in which I didn't smile. I just didn't. It was like I was on duty 24-7....that said, I still stand at church when people shake my hand. I stand if a lady speaks to me. And in a non-school setting, I won't shake a woman's hand unless she extends the hand first.....( Old school from Bill Thomas, my dad would be upset if I didn't do so.)

The person I ran into concluded their "discussion" with me by saying, that ( and I am sort of paraphrasing here.) " Maybe you just need to convert and become a Muslim."

I was somewhat stunned. This person was on staff at a church for a while. Might still be as far as I know.

I was so stunned, I didn't react.

At this point, I think I will just leave it alone. I am better as a None.

Maggie Thatcher

I remember Maggie Thatcher not as a Troy leader, or as a friend of Ronald Reagan, but as a foreign policy leader.

I remember the Falkland War as it was just like it was yesterday. I was working in adult education in the Beaumont ISD and my boss, was the late George Stark, a retired US Naval Officer.

Mr. Stark told us every day what was going to happen, what Mrs. Thatcher would do, and what the British Navy would do...He nailed it every morning..... .it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life....

She sent the British Navy around the world to reclaim rocks with sheep and about a 1000 people living on them.....makes you wonder if the US would do the same thing?

RIP Mrs Thatcher. You were one of a kind.

Your Houston Astros

I have come to the acceptance there will be no Houston Astro baseball games this year on our Dish, Directv, or cable system here in our area this year...and to be honest, it isn't that bad of a thing. I may go ahead and switch over and root for the Texas Rangers.

I am not really for sure what the new ownership wants? I really do not think he or the people who are advising him understand the business of baseball. Maybe they do, and this is part of a long term plan.

There might be a real possibility that ownership wants to move the team out of the area. I have heard the San Jose area. I have heard Portland, Oregon, Charlotte, NC, and Nashville. I have heard maybe into the Northeast. ( Perhaps the Hartford, CT or an additional MLB team in NYC?)  When you are drawing only 18,600 people on the first Saturday evening of the season, a lack of attendance would be an excuse to move, and I understand they are building for the future....but building for what? Instead of a bottom of the division club, and middle of the pack " also ran?"

I listened to the game on KOGT radio this afternoon and when the broadcasters are discussing pancake batter and the addition of vanilla to the mix, it is going to be a long year.....who knows maybe the Astros can break the 1885 Cleveland Spiders record of 134 losses in a season. As of this afternoon, they're on the pace to do so....

Swinging...Part II...and a request.

I was planning on writing on another subject, but over the last 48 hours I have been pretty amazed at the people who have sent me e-mails, texts, messages on the swinging going on in East Texas. It  is pretty amazing. I am just stunned at the number of people who are involved....and Who is involved...It sort of made me sick to my stomach.

I have a request this morning....I am just curious, the former seminarian is coming out in me. If you go to church, could you tell me the subject of this morning's sermon? ( I would prefer a private FB message. But if you want to post on the comments that's okay too.)

Friday Korea Report- April 10 Deadline

So the crazy ass North Koreans are telling the diplomatic corps they may need to leave N. Korea's capital city.

I wonder just how much the US Government is trying to kick start this war? The economy ain't so good and if we start a war, well, hell, it'll take our minds off our troubles. Problem is, do we want a war that may lead the Chinese to get involved? Trying to stop all the Chinese would be like trying to get rid of fire-ants  It'd be a never ending battle.

Meanwhile in N. Korea, they gave Fat Boy a gun to wave around...probably no bullets and then later he waved a baton to make him feel important.( First video)....maybe if he gets a haircut and is allowed to conduct the Dallas Symphony, he'll calm down...

Swinging

Many of you may have heard the radio show last night, so you know, I am already stirred up on this topic.

A few weeks ago, I made a comment that I was going to write a blog on swinging, but my source was well, shaky at best. In typical fashion, if you wait long enough, the source was confirmed. In a big way.

To my surprise there is a pretty big group of people who are swapping wives in Jasper County. Now, I am a pretty libertarian person in my personal life, but when you screw Friday and Saturday night someone else 's wive(s) and then get up the next morning and go to church, well, I am going to call you on it.

Come on man, do you think that going to church on Sunday is going to clean up what you did this last week, so you can do it again this coming week? And my understand is, some of these ministers out there know and are not preaching on the subject. ( Preachers don't have to name names, just call down the sin.) We are more concerned with the offering plate...sorry, but it is true...

I am still in a bit of a shock from what I learned this week....

They can't Find Two North Korean Submarines

Just when you thought things could get any worse on the Korea front, the South Korean Navy has lost two of the North Korean submarines.....

All we need now is for those babies to pop up off the coast of Seattle or San Francisco, or Pearl Harbor, or I guess if they went a long way, Galveston.( Can't see Galveston.)

More than likely, they'll try and do something off the coast of South Korea....

We Live in a Time in Which Anything is Possible

Last week at this time, I thought that the N. Korea situation might just be puffery by a Fat Boy with firecrackers.

This week, I really do not know. There are now members of congress who are talking about-preemptive strikes against N. Korea. 

The U.S. has moved missile defenses to Guam, about the only U.S Territory that can be hit by N. Korean rockets.....and less than an hour ago N. Korea has approved a nuclear strike on the U.S.

We might have to go through with this thing.....As the old Chinese proverb says..." May you live in interesting times...."  We do folks, we do...

That Vast Wasteland

TV is pretty much a wasteland. I can't remember a TV show I watched on Channels 4.6.12.50......That said, next year, you are going to have to watch the FX program, Justified. ( My sole purpose for CBS, NBC, Fox is local news and NFL football in the Fall.)

Without a doubt, it is one of the most violent shows, that one minute later will have you laughing in stitches. Without a doubt it has the best writers on television...If you watch it, living in East Texas, you'll see people that you'll say.... " I know that person."

I Didn't Get into College....

So, the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed piece this weekend from a high school young lady who didn't get into the college in which she wanted to attend.  I am assuming she wanted to go to Harvard or Yale or Princeton, or some other Ivy League or exclusive school....she was all upset that she would be going to a Big Ten school....

Boo-Hoo.....Boo-Hoo...Sorry, I don't feel sorry for you. I wanted to go to Univ. of Texas or Texas A&M when I graduated from high school. I couldn't afford it.... I, like many of you, got a job and slugged it out at the " Harvard of the Neches", old "Pecker Tech" itself Lamar University.

For years, I thought I had received a second rate education.....until I went to seminary in Ft Worth.

My first day in seminary I was surrounded by all sorts of A&M, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest grads......and about midway through the semester I looked up and decided, " These sumbitches ain't that smart." I could compete and beat these goobs grade wise all day long.

Folks, a degree from a fancy college is nice, but you know, it's what you do after the degree.....

Hold Onto Your Hats....N. Korea Just Got Interesting

This Korea business could blow up quickly....China is now mobilizing troops and aircraft on its border with N. Korea.

This while the US sends our new F-22 fighters as part of war games with the South Koreans and an anti-missile destroyer off the coast of Korea. 

The White House is saying that the N. Koreans are not on a mobilized threat against the South.....trouble is, the N. Koreans are always ready to fight the South.

Then the North is saying that the US Mainland is "Like a boiled pumpkin, ready for attack."

Optimo

It is official, Spring is here....April 1, is close enough....I have gotten out the new Optimo hat....

Problem is, I wore a white t-shirt under a black shirt...I look like an Episcopal priest....well, I can cuss like one....BTW: This is post number 600.

Well, I Hope the Columns Don't Fall in on Me.

I am going to church this morning. I really do not want to go, at this point in my life, Jesus and I are getting along pretty darn good.

My wife is singing in the church's cantata, musical, whatever it is called now days. It's not a "High Church" musical I am sure. It won't be written by John Peterson or as I prefer, George Frederick Handel...I hope there is not preaching afterwards. For some reason, today's preachers can't let the music stand alone, they feel like they have to say something....and kill the mood....maybe it's an ego thing now.....( I can remember when ministers let the music stand alone and offer an invitation.)

We'll see....

Kim Jong-Un...Aggie Fan

Well, it's official, the dictator of N. Korea is crazy, he is now threatening to blow up the following cities in the United States....Washington D.C., LA.....and Austin , TX.

The only thing I can figure is he's a Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel fan....Sorry Aggies, it was too easy....

Going to Make One of You Really Mad

I received an essay on polygamy yesterday.....and before you get all mad and throw stuff, the email was from a female....she was all for it...equal rights, all that other stuff.

I was literally shocked when I read it. All I could think of was how in this world would that work? They didn't comment on the blog from yesterday, so you can eliminate them from possible essay submitter.

All I could think of was ...What would you do if ALL of the guys you were married to were interested that day?  Who and how would you decide who to have kids with? What would you do, there has to be some sort of male jealousy?

The only thing I could think of was it would turn into some sort of Bizarro World gangbang every night.

Maybe I actually am too naive? Maybe I actually have lived too long? Perhaps it is time for me top move to the Farm in NE Texas and become some sort of hermit???

North Korea....Again

As I have written before, there is an internal fight in N. Korea between the President, Kim Jong Un, and his generals.

At 29 years old, he is the youngest leader in the world. ( Some debate on the age, he might be 30.) You can rest assure that the old guard in the North Korean leadership sees him as too young, too inexperienced to be in charge of a nation...( The Founding Fathers of the U.S. knew what they were doing when they made the age of the U.S. President a minimum of 35 yrs old.)

Trouble is, rather than ignore the little dictator, it seems the U.S. is wanting the N. Koreans to try and do something...In the past 24 hours we have sent 2 B-2s on a 13,000 mile trip from Missouri to Korea,  as a part of the war games we are involved with....

Now, the N. Koreans are not an innocent party. They have cut off all communications with the South Koreans. They are putting out photoshopped sea landings. and N. Korea warns of an imminent nuclear war with the U.S.

So, in reality, this entire N. Korea business is a power play.....trouble is, what happens if someone on either side presses it too far?

Yesterday

I am one who loves a political and religious discussion as much as the next person, but yesterday, well, we got out of control.

Stuff like this is part of the reason why I thought about shutting down the blog a couple of weeks ago. Personal attacks, are expected, but when you go off on each other over something I have written, well, it is a bit upsetting....107 comments yesterday, and while I expect some disagreement, I once again don't want people to become vicious.

Mitch teased me yesterday about causing so much animosity on Facebook, and in reality he was right. I went back about 6-8 times almost deleting the Facebook post and the blog.

Once again, the blog is to get people to think. It's not to get people up in arms over a subject.

Please, be civil. I know many of you have strong opinions about stuff, but don't lose your temper.

110,000,000 Cases of VD in America

So, there are now 110 million cases of VD in the US.....People, scratchin', itching, drippin', swellin', dischargin' , hurtin', stinkin'....all over this nation....the VD rate is growing faster than new job growth...( I guess so, people have to find something to do...)

The rate of VD is growing the fastest in the 15-24 age group. There is a 9 times better chance you'll get VD than a college diploma.

And is it any wonder. There are some companies in this nations that are totally bankrupt morally. Victoria's Secret is now supposedly coming out with a line of sexy clothes for Tweens ( Girls ages 11-13.) and teens.....Sad thing is, parents will buy the clothes for their kids....

If Gays Are Allowed to Marry, What's Next?

I was asked if the Supreme Court of the United States allows gay and lesbians to marry, what is next?
To my surprise, I got to thinking about this last night in bed, staring at the ceiling?

- Will there be a state that will allow polygamy or bigamy to exist? The only one who might let this happen is Utah, and I doubt the Mormon Church would allow this to come back. The Mormons are a pretty conservative mainstream bunch and I can't dream of them passing a state law to go back to having more than 1 wife....who in their right mind would want more than one in this day and age? I know of all the things I am going to discuss it is the most Biblical as Solomon had 700 wives and David had 8....trouble is if you let men have more than one wife, you'll have to let women have more than one husband....It'll be like the swingers group up in S. Jasper County. ( I'll need to write a blog on that....won't I...)

- Will Pedophilia be legalized? No shape, no way, no how....If you are wanting to marry an 11 year old you need to be taken out the back and shot.

- Will you be able to marry a dog or cat or donkey or a goat....once again, no. You can't really know if a dog or a monkey wants to be married or not, and anyone who is practicing bestiality also need to be taken into the back and shot too....then again, I had a professor at Lamar who was in favor of bestiality. He's dead now and I am pretty sure he went to hell.

- The one in the future and it just blew my mind thinking about it is having a robot as a mate....I won't live to see it, but there will be robots in the future so human like,  you will not be able to tell the difference. This is an ethical question I do not want to live see answered....

I Wonder How Much Money Disappears at Schools?

After seeing that the Treasurer of the Jasper High Band Boosters is alleged to have stolen almost $8000 in scholarship monies from the booster's fund, it makes me wonder just how much fund money winds up missing.

The majority of the people I know can account for every penny they have collected for proms, dances, scholarships, etc, but you know, there have been some people in my past that I wonder about, and a lot of the people disappeared under really odd circumstances.

If there was one thing I was paranoid about when I was in the school business, it was both cash, and the school's Master Card. I remember having a discrepancy of $3.62 once and made sure I added the $3. 62 out of my own pocket so the books would balance. ( I couldn't tell you no more than anything what happened to the money. I am thinking the hotel charged us a tax that we shouldn't have been charged.)

I taught with people I know stole. Higher ups knew. They literally bragged about new dresses,  other new goods they had bought....( They are now with other school districts. )

Look, once again, most people are as honest as the day is long when they handle money, but there are times in which you wonder....

The Bible- TV Series

So, I have been watching the mini-series The Bible on The History Channel over the last few weeks and while it is a well produced show, there are so many things I see and then grab a Bible to remind myself, of things that were left out.

Jesus drawing in the sand when the woman caught in adultery is omitted along with Jesus taking a whip to the money changers at the Temple are just two of the glaring examples.

The first miracle at the wedding at Canaan, which is so important in symbolism to the Christian faith, is omitted.....

Then there are the actors...does it seem to me that Jesus really looks like a "dude" who should be smoking a fatty and getting ready to catch some waves?

I guess in this day and age we should expect all the disciples to have six-pack abs......How ever, did they really need to make Thomas the bald headed one?

Don't Let Your Guard Down

Okay, "Dingy" Harry Reid has taken the assault weapons and the magazine limit out of the new gun control bill working its way through the US Senate.

That doesn't mean that it will not appear again in the form of an amendment later down the road on this same bill. You can rest Diane Feinstein and Chucky Schumer will try and tack it on the present bill.

Look, the Mayor of NYC is spending $12 million dollars to try and get US Senators to change their minds.

The trouble is this folks, I am not so sure about this universal background check business. So, does this mean when I die and leave my guns to Reid, or your dad or grandfather dies and leaves the guns to you, for you to legally own the guns, you have to go through a background check.....ON ALL OF THEM?  Yes it does....Fuck that...

My understanding is the way the bill is written now, there are people pushing, in order for you to sell the guns and have them go through the background check, there must be some form of a bill of sale....from when you BOUGHT the gun...Good luck finding it from 1953.

Gays and Lesbians

The Supreme Court of the U.S. is going to look at 2 court cases concerning gays and marriage this week.

The first involved the State of California and the voters of that state deciding not to allow gay marriage. The second involves DOMA. (  Defense of Marriage Act.) That the U.S. Government has decided that marriage is only between a man and woman at the federal level.

I have come a long way in my views of homosexuality. For years and years I would have fought tooth and nail against gay marriages. I still have some reservations about it, but I am to this point....Who am I to decided who can marry and who can not?

I do not know what is in a person's heart. I do not know what their relationship between them and their maker is either. It is not for me to judge.

I am also a believer that this is a state's rights issue. If a state wants to allow gay marriage  that is their business, not mine, or another state or the U.S. Government's business.

There no way I can tell what the Supreme Court will decide this week. I really think they may allow states to decide on marriage within that state citing the 10th Amendment, and uphold DOMA....but who really knows?

Is There That Many People Doped Up?

So, as many of you know it a stretch of dates in which I visit several doctors, and it wasn't 30 minutes when I receive a call from a doctor's office I visit on Weds., asking if I had done my blood work for the visit  or course, I hadn't and the lady said, you need to get it done today at "XYZ" lab.

I drive to town and the there are people literally standing in line at the lab. I go and sign in and start my wait....and it was quite a wait, 2 hours and 18 minutes.

It seems it was drug test day. Not sure for who. Probation Office? Parole Office? Businesses? ( Couldn't tell, some people were dressed well, some were dressed like thugs.) I was the only one there for a blood and urine test....and they almost made me take the drug exam before they read my chart.

Makes you wonder just how many people are using narcotics in this country.

Got an Ugly Note this Morning

Once again, it seems I made someone mad in S. Jasper County.....again....Once again, I don't really care. I am not going to apply to work there ever again, and you wouldn't hire me if I did...

We may need to discuss the bond and other "stuff" tonight on the radio show.

Look, putting your head in the sand like an ostrich doesn't make troubles go away and it seems like I am the only one who asks questions, sometime to what seems like my peril.

If I hurt "plans" I really don't care. There are numerous patrons who have told me to keep doing what I am doing. There are people who are upset, but they can't say anything....I can, so I take the heat.

Psychological and Cultural War and the End of School

I have been always been a supporter of public schools. That said, I am now wondering if it has outlived its intended purpose.

I do not think you know how much it pains me to say that.

Schools were started in an attempt to help everyone in this nation learn enough to get a job, go to college, become a better citizen and person in general....But in the last few years they have become more and more of an indoctrination tool.

A few years ago when they wanted to use CSCOPE in the schools as a way to pass the then TAKs exam, I saw my career as a teacher coming to a rapid end.

What they are wanting teacher to do is to be a script manager for generalized curriculum for all kids, for here in Texas. It will eventually be for all of the U.S. It is part of the dumbing down of the U.S.

Look, I never used a damn curriculum I was ever given. I know they were all shit. I made my own stuff of what you needed, and what you missed and turned it into a 1/2 year of " Hell on earth" in the government class. ( Look, we just sort of went through economics. You were seniors and had the "ities" bad. I just tried to teach you a little something and make sure you didn't shut down to the point you were not going to graduate. )

The sad part is the legislators in Austin don't really care. They are wanting vouchers not so much for your kids, but for the "so called" Charter Schools, so they friends can get in on the money making floor from the state teat...Sad thing is this, most of the Charter Schools also use CSCOPE.


I don't know, the culture in this nation is changing so much I do not know if I want to be alive in 10 years. When the police raid a house because an 11 year old boy is holding a rifle on a Facebook page, I have to wonder....what will teachers be instructed to tell the kids about gun ownership in the future?

B-52s to Korea

This morning in S. Korea, hackers hit both banks and broadcasters. They are pretty sure the hack attack came from the North Koreans.

Say what you will, you will, we're going to have to keep an eye on the Korean Peninsular. Anytime the U.S. 7th Air Force starts to fly B-52 on mock nuclear bombing runs from Guam to Korea, you have to sit up and pay attention.and you know, the B-52s had enough firepower on board to kill 5-20 million people....

This entire episode is due to the fact that Fat Boy is trying to show the old leaders and generals that he is in charge of N. Korea. Fat Boy has several million people starving and he's worried about building drones. 
Which are probably remote controlled planes he ordered from a hobby catalog....

AT&T Kids Commercial

So, you probably have seen the commercials on TV, AT&T has a group of ads in which some smart ass asks kids questions about common sense things....

There are always 4 kids, and the kids have an answer to the questions.....and you know the ads have to be staged.

My question is this....Do all the kids look sort strange to you? Like the one of the kids has too pretty of eyelashes, or the kid's hair looks all fucked up?

Next time the commercial is on, look at the kids....Tell me there isn't something odd going on....

Pull Some Maintenance Buna ISD

My late Father said that on more than one occasion. " If you own things, a house, a car, a boat etc.....you have to pull some maintenance to keep it working."

Well it seems the Buna ISD doesn't want to do this.

Rumor is many of the photos of things needing painting .  or just some simple taking care of at the HS.

Buna Public Schools is going to ask for a several million dollars for new schools. If they can't afford to keep up the maintenance, how long will it be before they will be ask for another bond? 5-10 years? Look, the new elementary had air condition troubles and many of the rooms didn't have proper air or heating for about 2 years. ( They finally hired someone to fix it.)

Will you be asked to build new schools and then, they the schools will not be maintained? It will only be a short time before they too will have serious troubles?

I Keep Saying We're Going to Hell

I generally leave one of the 3 major news station on while I am around the house doing whatever....The major news story should be the fact that the common  people of Cyprus may have their bank accounts raided by the European Union to pay Cyprus' debts...Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Italy, etc could be next.

If they do it in Europe, don't think they won't try to do it here in the U.S. next. I could see the U.S. Debt getting so bad here, they just decide to tax our bank accounts, or more importantly, the 401K or IRA retirements.

What are they talking about? Lindsey Lohan is in court today...who cares? Put her in prison...but what did she get? Rehab....Me or you would be in the van going to Huntsville...

I call B.S. Buna ISD

I take a look for any new information on the proposed school bond and as I see a survey. 

Yes, it one of those polls that isn't scientific and if they use it to actually make a decision on what they are going to build, and if they are going to build, with this poll, I am sorry, but they are full of shit.

The way the poll is set up, anyone could take the poll. Some pud-pull in Juneau , Alaska or a beat-root in Bangor, Maine, someone in the Evadale or Kirbyville ISDs could have taken it...

Hell, the ballot box could be "stuffed" the way the paper survey is set up....

If you want to do an actual poll, of what the people in the community want in their school, there is a scientific polling method of people who actually live within the school district. What you have set up online can be manipulated so easily, it is not even funny.....and they want the taxpayers to think this is serious.

I remember a survey like this within the Buna ISD in which of one of the campuses had more votes than people working on that campus...many more...it used the same system for this survey.

Fat Boy is Cruisin' for a Bruisin'

I really do not know what in the Hell Fat Boy wants. He was shooting his artillery yesterday near the DMZ...

Today, he fires short range missiles into the Sea of Japan.

The U.S. must be concerned because we are now setting up more short ranged missiles to knock down anything launched towards the west coast. 

I am telling you, it is his haircut...if we just sent a half way decent barber over there, this entire mess would end....Here's a photo of him coming out of the barber shop on Wednesday before his last military "fit."

Well, stopped in Kirbyville last night on the way to the radio show ( I know, I know ) and I noticed at the store that the Powerball is now up to $212 million dollars. 

I will buy a couple of tickets tonight....I know that there are a couple of people I need to hire.

Bunky is out of a job, I'll hire him to be my driver and wash the cars ever day. ( I'll make him grow his hair out, just to see what it looks like.)....Paw needs a job doing something.....I can hire the Troll to cook.I'll get her a chef's hat to make her look taller.The tallest chef's hat made....

Then, bring back cotton to Northeast Texas and farm until I go broke and then the government will bail me out....( Ain't been cotton on the family farm since the 1940s...not sure with soil depletion it can even be done....)

Texas School District Has Their Own SWAT Team

When I first read the story, I thought it would be someone like Dallas or Houston or San Antonio ISDs....But no, it is the Edinburg ISD down in the Valley section of the State of Texas.

I don't know really how to take this.....Are we to the point that we now need SWAT teams for the school districts? Can't they use the city or county SWAT Team? ( I know Hidalgo County has a SWAT Team.)

They are issuing the 12 members of the team M4 rifles.

I do not know if I was a parent if I would want a fully auto fire-fight at a school in which my kid attends.

Francis I only has one working lung. He was 2nd place in all the voting last time. He is a Jesuit, the first Jesuit....He is of Italian heritage.

If you remember ( those of you who took my class) I told you that the next Bush to run for office would be George P. Bush. The son of Job Bush, the former Florida Governor....

He's been prepping for this position for quite some time. Went to Rice, law school at UT-Austin, working for a firm that specializes in real estate law...

He is running for Texas Land Commissioner in 2014. ( In charge of Texas' oil and gas leases, the permanent school fund, Texas beaches, all Texas lands. )

If he is elected he'll be the 4th generation Bush elected to office....

Trust me, this is just a stepping stone position.....He'll run for US Senate from Texas or Governor of Texas one day...get ready.
